HomePorts today announced the launch of its new Vehicle Donation program, giving supporters of the organization yet another way to contribute to the organization’s goal of helping Kent County residents ages 55+ remain independent, health and safe in their own homes.
A proven means of raising monies for non-profit organizations, the HomePorts Vehicle Donation Program will mirror that of many 501(c)(3) groups utilizing this means of driving community involvement and contributions. Well-known organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross have long had these types of programs in place.
“Donors who participate in the HomePorts Vehicle Donation Program can enjoy several benefits,” said Karen Carr, Executive Director. “By donating a vehicle, individuals may be eligible for a tax deduction, depending on the value and condition of the vehicle and current IRS regulations. Additionally, vehicle donation offers a convenient way to support a local charitable cause like HomePorts without the hassle of selling or trading in an unwanted car. Most importantly, donors can take pride in knowing that their contribution will directly support HomePorts in our efforts to help seniors in our community, by helping them maintain independence and quality of life”.
The HomePorts Vehicle Donation Program accepts cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, golf carts and farm equipment. Running or not. And the process is simple and straightforward. Interested parties may simply visit homeports.org/donate, complete the online vehicle donation form with information regarding the vehicle they’d like to donate. Then HomePorts’ partner will reach out within 24 hours to help finalize details of the donation and arrange pick-up of the vehicle.
